Why businesses choose Slade Tech

We are a Northamptonshire-based IT partner — not a one-off contractor who disappears after install. Slade Tech delivers cabling as part of your wider network, support and office move projects, with documentation your team can actually use.

  • Reliable wired connectivity for desks, printers and meeting room AV
  • Neat comms cabinets that are easy to maintain and troubleshoot
  • Every port tested end-to-end before we sign off the job
  • Clear labelling reduces downtime when moves or faults occur
  • One partner for cabling, switches, Wi-Fi and ongoing IT support

Without Managed Services

  • Tangled patch leads with no port labelling

  • Overloaded cabinets blocking airflow and access
  • Separate contractors for cabling, networking and support
  • No documentation when the original installer has left

With Managed Services

  • Handover documentation and ongoing support from one team

How we work

Survey. Install. Test. Document.

Our structured approach maps your requirements, installs to standard, verifies every link and leaves you with documentation that outlasts the project.

01

Survey

Walk the site, count outlets, review cabinet space and agree cable routes and standards.

Clear scope before any cable is pulled

02

Install

Run and terminate structured cabling, fit patch panels and dress cabinets neatly.

Minimal disruption to working areas

03

Test

Test every port end-to-end, patch through to switches and verify connectivity before sign-off.

Confidence that every port works before handover

04

Document

Deliver labelled panels, port schedules and as-built notes for your records.

Documentation your team can rely on later

Cabling built into your IT partnership

Network infrastructure works best when cabling, switching, Wi-Fi and support sit with the same partner — not split across contractors who do not talk to each other.

FAQ

Cat6 supports 1 Gbps comfortably and 10 Gbps over shorter distances. Cat6a supports 10 Gbps over the full 100-metre channel and offers better shielding against interference. We recommend Cat6a for new installs where you want headroom for future bandwidth needs.

No. We regularly tidy existing cabinets, replace damaged outlets, add runs for desk moves and re-label panels where documentation has been lost. A site survey helps us quote accurately for remediation work.

Yes. Every port is tested end-to-end before we sign off the job — checking continuity and connectivity so you know each link works. We do not supply formal certification reports with detailed link specifications, but every outlet is verified live before handover.

For office moves and larger installs we can schedule work outside business hours or in phases. We discuss access, noise and downtime during the survey so your team knows what to expect.

Yes. Cabling is one layer of your network. We can patch through to switches, configure VLANs and deploy Wi-Fi access points as part of the same project — or through our managed services and IT support packages.
